    - Background.

At our 50th reunion in 2006, the Haddonfield Memorial High School Class of 1956 established a Scholarship for Further Education in Music. To celebrate our upcoming 60th reunion in 2016, class members decided in mid-2015 to double the amount in the fund to $50,000 to allow the scholarship to be awarded in perpetuity.  We raised more than $26,000, including matching funds provided by a generous, anonymous classmate.
On January 26, 2016, Haddonfield Memorial High School Scholar-ship Advisor Carol Barbano announced that the fund showed a total of $52,680.
Class of 1956 Scholarship Coordinator Baird Foster stated, “This will be a wonderful start to our 60th anniversary year.”  He noted that “music is the universal language, and our Class of 1956 can speak out to and assist future HMHS students who choose a further education in that field.”  Through 2015, nine scholarships have been awarded to graduating HMHS seniors.
Contributors’ generosity has helped many students from HMHS pursue a further education in music.  Additional tax-deductible contributions are always welcome.  Make contributions payable to the “HMHS Scholarship Fund c/o Class of 1956” and send directly to Haddonfield Memorial High School, Attn: Scholarship Advisor, 401 East Kings Highway, Haddonfield, NJ 08033-1297.
Classmates may also make a bequest to our scholarship fund; full details are available from the HMHS Scholarship Advisor. The phone number at HMHS is (856)429-3960.
A donation to the HMHS Class of 1956 Scholarship presents a meaningful way to remember a classmate or family member.  Contributions can be made as noted above.

    - Thank You Classmates!

Special thanks to Baird & Margo Foster for their tireless work with HMHS regarding the Scholarship award and other important coordination details. Also, thanks to all our classmates who contributed for the class gift.
