• Miriam Newton Childs, HMHS Cl. '41 Passes.

The Haddonfield Alumni Society Trustees sadly report that Miriam Newton Childs, HMHS Class of 1941, passed on August 18, 2016.  Miriam was among the small group of alumni who gathered in 1992 to consider the formation of the Haddonfield Alumni Society (HAS).  The formation of the HAS formerly came to fruition the next year and Miriam was elected to the first board of trustees and officers.  Over the next 20+ years Miriam was a key member, attended virtually every meeting and served as secretary and treasurer right up to the 2015 Annual Meeting when she was presented with a special lifetime award for her service to our organization.  Miriam will always be remembered as our greatest "cheerleader and champion" for our alumni, the HAS, our school system and, particularly her alma mater, Haddonfield Memorial High School.

Please click HERE for Miriam's obituary which was published on the Kain-Murphy Funeral Home website

In spring of 2005 we started E-mailing the Newsletter to everyone who provided
an E-mail address to Alumni Research. Only those individuals for whom we have
no E-mail address will receive the Newsletter via conventional snail mail. This
will enable us to reduce the cost of this semiannual publication, which takes the
biggest chunk out of our budget.
